After a very busy summer of playing Post 29 baseball, our high school coach, Terry Henthorne, sent recommendations for several of his players to participate in the Battle of the Borders at Appalachian State.  What a great experience for all of the players!  Those couple of days changed my son's whole perspective of his future. He had never even entertained the idea of playing showcase baseball.  When approached by Coach Schaefer and Coach Lykin that day, he kind of brushed it off, put Jeff Schaefer's card in his wallet and we went to the beach. After careful deliberation while on vacation, we agreed to allow Michael to play for the DeMarini Stars for the fall.  After a fun and successful fall season, he was hooked and ready to play during the 2015 summer season.  The summer was busy. There were ups and downs, accolades and disappointments. The privilege to be able to tryout for the USA Baseball team arose.  Another unforgettable experience to put in the books! Those days spend at the USA Complex in Cary were amazing!

As we entered the fall season, many more opportunities surfaced.  Michael did not always produce as expected.  His coaches encouraged and worked with him to become more focused and driven.  After several college visits, many phone calls, many sleepless nights and lots of decisions to be made, it is done!
We cannot thank Jeff Schaefer and his staff enough for all you do for all of the players.  Your love of the game and dedication to our youth is truly amazing!  What an awesome adventure that has totally changed our son's life. We will recommend CBC to all of the upcoming players we know!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

“I was a teammate of Schaef over 20 years ago and we have remained friends because of our shared passion for the game. Schaef’s passion and skills made him a big leaguer; his competitive nature and knowledge of the
game kept him there.”

“Since Schaef left pro-ball in 1994 major league organizations have attempted to lure him back. Why? Because over his 14 year professional baseball career Schaef was prepared
to play on every single pitch of every game. Do the math…250 pitches per game x
162 games per year x 14 years equals a lot of focus, determination and desire
to beat you. That is why.”

Matt Sinatro – Former MLB Player – 18 Year Major League Coach

“The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the Police Activities League would like to thank Carolinas Baseball Center (CBC) for their contributions to the P.A.L. Baseball Program. The youth of the P.A.L. program often have obstacles placed ahead of them that prevent them from excelling in many facets of life. CBC has done due diligence to remove some of those obstacles by providing time, equipment, and a safe environment for baseball instruction.Besides propelling top level baseball players forward, CBC has displayed a desire to assist all youth in the fundamental skills of the game  and should be commended for such efforts.

On behalf of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, and the Police Activities League, Sergeant Jeter would like to thank Carolinas Baseball Center for the loads of bats, balls, gloves, and instruction; futhermore lending a hand in producing great citizens and baseball players.”
